Enhancing Maine students’
access to post-secondary pathways.

Colby has a deep and longstanding commitment to our home state of Maine. To support the postsecondary aspirations of Maine students of all backgrounds, our admissions and financial aid team provides college access workshops and enrichment opportunities.

Each year, Colby admissions and financial aid officers visit every available high school in the state through the Maine Days initiative.
The Early College Planning Program educates middle and high school students about the college application process.
Colby meets 100 percent of demonstrated financial need without the use of loans.
Maine-based community based organizations can receive travel grants to visit Colby’s campus.

Small Town and Rural Students College Network

Located in the most rural state in the nation, Colby has joined the Small Town and Rural Students (STARS) College Network in order to further expand its commitment to Maine. Through this partnership, Colby is bolstering its Maine programming and has instituted a comprehensive, integrated statewide outreach plan aimed at elevating and empowering rural students, families, and educators.

Polaris STARS

Maine students, their families, and educators are invited to attend Polaris STARS. Each day will be a chance to understand the college experience through interactions with Colby students, faculty, and staff. Maine students, families, and educators can expect a campus tour, spotlight classes, and admissions, financial aid, and/or other college admissions workshops.
