Presidential Scholars

Colby’s Presidential Scholars Program offers a group of the top students in each incoming class access to a cohort-based opportunity to engage with Colby’s centers, institutes, and labs, which provide expansive learning opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom, enabling Presidential Scholars to take advantage of the opportunities they offer during their first year on campus. Presidential scholars also receive access to a pool of grants to design their own projects, and funding for music lessons.

Presidential Scholars
achieve at the highest levels.

The program’s resources will allow you to explore scholarly questions that matter to you.

Opportunity Grants of up to $3,000 enable successful applicants to design their own academic, research, internship, or service experience.
Presidential Music Scholarships cover the cost of music lessons in the first year at Colby as students explore various programs before selecting a major. (Music lessons continue to be free beyond the first year to all students who major in music.)
